Sometimes

by Jamal Parker

Sometimes I wonder if Obama was able to black enough
Kick back and in the Oval Office and blast Kendrick
Sometimes I envision Obama as an eloquent ebonics instructor
Slang more prominent in his tongue behind closed doors
Did his white mamma ever tell him to wash his ass
Did his lack of having a father in his life make him a little more like me

Author Bio: Jamal Parker is a Sophomore at Temple University and is an African-American Studies Major. He enjoys writing poetry, watching superhero films, and scrolling through Black Twitter. He is a nerd at heart, yet somehow is terrible at math.
